Jane Austen College Celebrates Exceptional Results in GCSE Triumph

Jane Austen College is delighted to announce an exceptional set of GCSE results for the Class of 2025, marking one of the most successful years in the college’s history.

An impressive 75% of pupils successfully achieved a grade 9 to 4 in both English and maths, and 64% attained grades 9 to 5 in both English and maths. 

Recognised as one of Norwich’s highest-performing secondary school and rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2024, Jane Austen College continues to uphold its reputation for academic excellence. This year’s achievements build on the strong performance of 2024 and reflect the sustained progress made since 2023. 

Some standout successes include; 

Holcus, who achieved an outstanding six grade 9s and five grade 8s, will be sharing his A-Levels at Sir Isaac Newton and Jane Austen College Sixth Form, studying Maths, Further Maths, Computer Science, and Sociology, said: 

“I’m really happy with my grades, the resources and support from the school have been really helpful, and I hope to go into a career in computer science in the future."

Tom, who achieved three grade 9s and five grade 8s, is hoping to continue his studies at Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form in September to study Chemistry, Maths, Further Maths, and Biology, said:  

“I really enjoyed the last two years at Jane Austen College studying GCSEs. My teachers have been really supportive." 

Lilia is going on to study Maths, Biology and Chemistry after securing grade 7s, 8s and 9s in every subject.  

“Studying at Jane Austen has been so fun! I’m really happy with my results - I did better than I expected. The school has been really helpful and I’m excited continue my studies at Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form."

Together, they have created something truly special. We cannot wait to see the amazing things our pupils will go on to accomplish in the future.” 

Grade information 

*How the GCSE 9-1 scale compares to the old A*-G scale:  

Grades 9-7 = A*-A. Grades 6-4 = B-C. Grades 9-4 = A*-C 

The government publishes the percentage of pupils who achieve grade 5 or above in English and maths.
