Daniel Tugwell
Assistant Principal (SEND & Inclusion)
Daniel Tugwell is the Assistant Principal, SENDCO, and Science Teacher at Jane Austen College.
Originally from the North of England, Daniel moved to Norfolk to study at university and quickly made the region his home, having fallen in love with the local area and community. He completed a master’s degree in Chemistry, specialising in forensic chemistry, before going on to complete his teacher training.
Before joining Jane Austen College, Daniel worked in the engineering and production of chemical compounds used in the development of animal medication. Following his PGCE, he joined Jane Austen College in 2016 as a newly qualified science teacher.
During his time at Jane Austen College, Daniel has taught both science and mathematics, as well as leading the school’s PSHE provision as Head of PSHE. He later became the school’s SENCO and now serves as the Assistant Principal for SEND and Inclusion. Alongside his professional roles, Daniel has completed the National Professional Qualification in Special Educational Needs Coordination, as well as NPQs in Middle Leadership and Senior Leadership. He also holds a second master's degree in Educational Practice and Research.
Daniel brings a wealth of expertise, passion, and commitment to supporting all students, ensuring that inclusive practice is at the heart of the school community.
