Jane Austen College celebrates stand-out A-Level Results with 30% of all grades A-A*

Jane Austen College Sixth Form, situated in the heart of Norwich, has been celebrating its magnificent A-Level results today with 30% of grades A-Level A*-A, an incredible result, but even more incredible when nationally results have fallen for most providers.

Focusing on academic excellence, the school, which received a stand-out visit from Ofsted in 2022 stating that the school would be rated as ‘Outstanding’ if they were to carry out a full inspection and has seen an outstanding 90% of all grades at A*-C!  

Over 45% of grades awarded A*-A were in English Language, French, German, Graphics and Psychology. Following such fantastic results, Jane Austen College Sixth Form is delighted to see 100% of its students who applied for a place at an Oxbridge university secure their spot.  

 

John Vincent, Head of School at Jane Austen College Sixth Form said:  

“Congratulations to our sixth form students! The results today are testament to the hard work and dedication of both our students and staff. I am delighted to see 30% of all grades at A*-A and I am very proud of all that our students have achieved. I would like to wish them every success as they move on to the next steps in their academic careers, having secured some fantastic placements at university.” 

 

Head of Sixth Form, Kirshen Porter said: 

“I am so proud of our Year 13 students. They have been focused and determined to succeed despite the challenges that they have faced in the last two years and as a result, they have secured their places at some of the most prestigious universities in the country. It has been a privilege to work with them and we wish the best for their very bright futures.”  

 

Year 13 students Abi and Lillia both studied English Literature, History and Creative Writing at Jane Austen College Sixth Form, they said: 

“We are very happy with our results this morning. We have both got into our firm choice universities.” 

 

Abi is headed to the University of York to study Social and Public Policy and Lillia is headed to UEA to study English Literature and Creative Writing.  

 

“After all the stress of the exams it makes it all worth it to know we have gotten into our firm choices. It was good to be able to check UCAS in the morning to take some of the pressure off knowing we had got into our firm choices. We were so happy to arrive this morning and receive our results, it is exciting but also apprehensive to move on and have a fresh start.” 

 

Year 13 Grace studied English Language, Psychology and Geography at Jane Austen College Sixth Form and said: 

“I got two A* and an A, with those grades I am off to Leeds University to do English Literature and Creative Writing, I know in the future I want a job doing writing. It was a surprise this morning that I had done so well and the mark breakdowns, I am really happy with my results.” 

 

Jane Austen College works in partnership with Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form, who has also seen exceptional A-Level results today, to provide its students with the highest-quality A-Level courses in STEM subjects. Students at both colleges benefit from the best teaching and academic support, with opportunities to get involved in a vast array of electives to build life-long skills. 

Jane Austen College Sixth Form is delighted to be opening its exciting new campus in the centre of Norwich and will be hosting this year’s Open Evenings on Wednesday 11th October and Tuesday 17th October from 5pm to 7pm.
