School Vision/Ethos

Since opening in September 2014, we have established ourselves as one of the city's most popular and top-performing schools.

Our 2019 A-level results saw 82% of grades at A*-C, making us the top state school in Norwich and joint with one of the city's top independent schools.

Our motto is to develop our knowledge and character so that we lead great lives. To reflect this, our vision centres on setting our standards high and making sure we meet them - families like you deserve nothing less.

This means that we do expect a lot from our students, but that we also give them a lot in return. We expect our students to work hard through to the end of our extended school day, to be kind and caring to others at all times, to take responsibility and to invest in their extracurricular activities to get the most out of school life. In return we offer excellent lessons that follow a carefully developed curriculum; a pastoral system that looks after every child; and a wide range of high-quality electives that offer students the chance to try dozens of new experiences as part of the school day.

Students benefit from this approach whether they are joining the school in Year 7, or in sixth form in Year 12. Our sixth form is partnered with Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form, a specialist maths and science school, which allows us to focus on our specialism in the arts and humanities. This partnership gives our sixth form student access to top-flight teaching in whatever subjects they choose.

Our wide, traditional curriculum is combined with exciting extracurricular electives to give our young people the best possible opportunities. We work closely with our local and national organisations, including theatres, galleries, drama groups, and museums to widen horizons and ensure our students enjoy the fullest cultural life.
