Following the success of the 2022 musical ‘Grease’, Jane Austen College, Hewett Academy and Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form College are collaborating once again to present the family-favourite ‘Annie The Musical’. The students will return to the Walter Roy Theatre located at Hewett Academy, with performances on Thursday 9th February, Friday 10th February, and Saturday 11th February 2023.

Based on the cartoon strip Little Orphan Annie, the musical tells a Depression-era rags-to-riches story of an orphan who yearns to escape from the horrible orphanage that she resides in.

Students from all year groups at Jane Austen College, Hewett Academy, and Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form began rehearsals earlier this year. Performing with professional set, sound and lighting, and accompanied by a talented orchestra of both staff and students, the musical promises to wow audience members.

Carmel Hannant, Performing Arts Curriculum Lead at Inspiration Trust said:

“We’re delighted to be collaborating across the three schools once again for another fantastic musical extravaganza! Our students and teachers are so talented, these annual performances are the perfect opportunity to showcase that, and also an incredible enrichment experience for our students. We encourage everyone to attend, whether your child is involved or not, the performance is of such a high standard, and also a fun evening out for all the family!”

The first performance will take place at 7pm on Thursday 9th February. To book your tickets visit www.ticketsource.co.uk/jachewsinmusical
