John Vincent

Head of School

 

John is the Head of School at Jane Austen College.

He rejoined Jane Austen College's leadership team in April 2018 as the Vice Principal leading on behaviour, attendance and safeguarding. Progressing to the Head of School position in June 2023.

John has been a teacher of physical education since 1997 and has worked in a variety of schools and colleges across Norfolk. He spent much of his career in both curriculum and pastoral leadership.

In 2014, John was appointed as Assistant Principal at Jane Austen College supporting the Principal in the schools first two years of opening. He was responsible for developing the culture of the school. A move to The Hewett Academy in April 2016 as Vice Principal saw him leading on behaviour, attendance and safeguarding over the next two years until April 2018. 

From 2012-2014 John also worked as the Head of Education and Sports Psychologist at Norwich City Football Club working with a range of players. In 1998 John joined City College Norwich as a Sports Scientist progressing to a leadership role as a Programme Manager. The sports department grew from 90 students to over 500 during his time as programme manager. He was also responsible for writing the first BSc Hons in Sport Health and Exercise delivered at the college. 

John is also a keen sports coach and has been directly involved in coaching a number of local football teams at all levels.
